Job description

We are currently seeking a Stock Operative to join our busy Stock Team in Inverness. You will be working as part of a team putting deliveries away within a designated area of the warehouse while ensuring the stock is correct to the delivery invoice and performing regular stock counts within the area to maintain stock accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Taking full ownership of a designated area within the warehouse.
  • Working closely with the stock control team to ensure stock is put away correctly and safely.
  • Reconcile and verify all deliveries to invoices.
  • Highlighting errors during the booking in process and wrong products received.
  • Ensuring all stock bin locations are accurate and correctly labelled.
  • Perform daily stock counts and larger cycle counts during stock takes for designated sections within the business.   
  • Monitoring housekeeping, damaged stock and reasons for damage.
  • Helping in other warehouse locations within the Inverness branch when colleagues require assistance.

Skills and Experience

  • Previous warehouse experience preferred.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Good numeric and literacy skills.
  • Good keyboard skills.
  • Ability to respond positively to computer and process training.
  • Ability to communicate with colleagues and customers when required.
  • Ability to work as part of a busy team but also on their own and able to make decisions relevant to the successful outcome and conclusion of the stock put away process.
  • Ability to respond positively to new challenges and change.
  • Forklift experience advantageous but not essential.
