Counter Assistant - Trailers



Job description

The successful candidate will provide support to the Trailers and Fencing teams and will handle customer enquiries both in person in the store and also on the telephone; process sales; replenish stock and help with the general upkeep of the showroom and external areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent customer service.
  • Communicate effectively with customers.
  • Provide a welcoming and friendly environment for customers.
  • Resolve customer queries and complaints in a timely and appropriate manner.
  • Provide support for other trade counters as required.
  • Assist with showroom security.
  • Display product ranges and equipment.
  • Where applicable, arrange PDI (pre-delivery inspection) for equipment sold.
  • Work on electronic point of sale system.
  • Price customer orders and advise the customer of goods availability. Allocate those ordered goods which are stocked, and assist, when necessary, the ordering of goods direct from relevant suppliers.
  • Replenish showroom shelves, create daily picklists and retain high shop-keeping standards.

Skills and Experience

  • Experience working in a Showroom/Store environment and direct customer sales experience preferred.
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills.
  • The ability to negotiate with customers.
  • Capable of working on their own and make successful decisions contributing to a sale.
  • Flexible attitude and willingness to learn.
