Job description

Job Role To ensure that MIS is fully compliant with regards, H & S, Quality,

Environment

Responsible for compliancy for Health & Safety, Quality and Environment adherence.

Supporting the business in maintaining the ISO accreditations in Quality,

H & S & Environment

Support colleagues in the thorough investigation into near miss and accidents

Assist in the completion of supplier questionnaire.

The post holder has no direct budgetary responsibility although they will have a responsibility for monitoring the costs incurred within their position

The post holder will develop, Implement and continuously update the ISO manuals

Responsible for programming Internal audits, to be carried out personally or by others

Attend meetings and supply performance statistics

Plan and prioritise personal work load to achieve agreed timescales for audits, both Internal and by external parties.

Keeping manuals and other associated documents up to date

Gaining a clear understanding of business requirements

Keep the Management and all staff informed of all issues on Health &

Safety, Quality and Environment.

When necessary, arrange meetings with Fire Marshals, Environment champions, First aiders

Prepare and distribute H & S Action Plan for Managers

Prepare and distribute Environmental Action Plan

Review and update where necessary, Evacuation Plan, Business

Continuity Plan

Various Supplier and Customer questionnaires (120 since January, some

2 pages, some are 30 pages)

Inspections programme for Fire Extinguishers, Warehouse and

Showroom steps, etc;

Ensure Fire warden and First Aiders adhere to their duties in all depots

Premises checks, both Internal and external, premises walkabout's

Assist in making off Risk Assessments, COSHH, Method statements, safe working practices

Keep all informed with new initiatives taken from our Indicator/FL Memo H

& S, Environment, "Tips & Advice"

Many items, anomalies can be highlight in the form of a tool box talk for managers to use.

It is important to have a signature for information disperse to all.

Person Specification

NEBOSH, NVQ or NCRQ Qualification preferred but not essential. This

role may be suitable for a graduate.

Good customer service skills when dealing with customers and colleagues.

Basic knowledge of relevant systems, equipment and processes.

Understands the importance of data accuracy.

The ability to work with minimal supervision and make decisions relevant to the successful outcome and conclusion of the processes.

Ability to respond positively to new challenges and change.

Ability to influence others to ensure Quality and Health and Safety processes and standards are being adhered to.

Company Requirements

The Company has a health and safety policy which outlines its responsibilities as an employer and the responsibilities of its employees in respect of health and safety, all employees need to be aware of this policy and comply with its content.

Carrying out any other duties which are appropriate to the post as may be reasonably requested by line manager.

Internally: Daily contact by e-mail, telephone or in person, with other

Externally: Contact with External Auditors, customers where applicable and, as required, suppliers by e-mail, telephone and in person

Excellent Customer Service: communicate effectively with customers – connect with the customer by being friendly, helpful and knowledgeable – be available to deliver great service – resolve customer queries and complaints in a timely and appropriate manner.

Provide support to other members of staff as and when required.

Take part in training arranged by the company.

Must be able to visit other branches on a regular basis.

Location Based at Henderson Road, Inverness. Post holder may be required to carry out duties at other Company sites.
