Weโre looking for a Service & Hire Parts Assistant who brings energy, pace and ownership to a critical operational role. This isnโt just picking parts โ itโs about enabling technicians, controlling costs, protecting stock integrity and keeping customer commitments on track.

The Role
You will support the Service & Hire Workshop by ensuring parts are available, controlled and accurately managed โ reducing downtime and driving performance. Your work will directly impact:
- Technician productivity
- Customer turnaround times
- Stock accuracy
- Cost control
- Audit and compliance standards
Key Responsibilities
๐ง Workshop & Team Support
- Provide proactive parts provisioning support to Service & Hire technicians.
- Work closely with the Workshops Manager on parts control and cost management.
- Support other MIS colleagues with parts advice and provisioning.
- Liaise with Supervisors and Managers to support scheduling and costing.
- Assist with maintaining and improving the parts provisioning function.
๐ฆ Inventory Control & Stock Discipline
- Manage parts inventory including purchasing, receipt, storage, issue and despatch.
- Maintain a centralised and accurate parts location system.
- Ensure stock put-away is accurate and compliant.
- Carry out rolling stock checks to maintain high stock accuracy.
- Identify and resolve pick fails and stock discrepancies.
- Ensure secure storage of designated stock holdings, including hazardous materials.
- Support stock and system audit programmes, including reporting and exception management.
- Ensure full compliance with departmental SOPs.
๐ Customer & Counter Support
- Provide professional support via phone and trade counter enquiries.
- Process sales orders accurately and efficiently.
- Represent MIS with confidence, professionalism and product knowledge.
