Overview
We are in search of an experienced E-commerce Manager to establish and lead a new e-commerce team at MacGregor Industrial Supplies. This newly created role will play a critical part in e-commerce development, strategy, and deployment. The E-commerce Manager will be responsible for the management of our websites and 3rd party marketplace channels. This position offers a hands-on role with a degree of autonomy and the opportunity to collaborate with various departments. The E-Commerce Manager will have access to the support and resources necessary to succeed in the role.
Key Responsibilities
E-Commerce Strategy Development
• In conjunction with the Commercial team formulate and execute a comprehensive e-commerce strategy that aligns with the company's overarching goals and objectives.
• Identify market opportunities, conduct competitor analysis, and remain updated on industry trends to drive sustainable growth.
Website Management
• Oversee the optimisation and administration of the company's e-commerce websites.
• Ensure websites are user-friendly, aesthetically pleasing, and search engine optimised.
• Collaborate with external providers to address technical issues and implement enhancements.
• Supervise the day-to-day website operations, including order processing, customer enquiries, and overall workflow.
Sales and Revenue Growth
• Develop and execute strategies to enhance online sales and revenue growth.
• Analyse sales data, identify areas for improvement, and execute initiatives to boost conversion rates, average order value, and customer retention.
Marketing & Promotion
• Collaborate with the marketing team to create optimised web content and develop and implement online marketing campaigns, promotions, and initiatives.
Product Management
• Coordinate with Category heads and Purchasing to maintain accurate and up-to-date product listings, descriptions, and pricing on the e-commerce platform.
• Optimise product categorisation, filtering, and search functionality to enrich the customer shopping experience.
Customer Experience Enhancement
• Continuously enhance the online customer experience by identifying and implementing website improvements.
• Optimise the checkout process and streamline customer service processes.
• Monitor customer feedback, reviews, and ratings and address any issues or concerns.
Analytics & Reporting
• Track and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) related to e-commerce operations, including sales, conversion rates, website traffic & engagement, customer acquisition, retention, and customer behaviour.
• Generate monthly reports and present findings to management, offering insights and recommendations for improvement.
• Leverage Google Analytics to produce insightful reports.
Development & Optimisation
• Collaborate with web developers, SEO agencies, and e-commerce professionals to optimise website performance.
• Oversee the updating of PPC campaigns and ad groups.
• Provide guidance to support sales and product management teams to ensure success and optimum growth.
People Management
• Lead, coach and develop the E-Commerce team to ensure the best use of individual skills. Responsible for ensuring the company’s cultural objectives are delivered.
• Set clearly defined objectives, conduct annual appraisals and identify training needs for the team.
• Responsible for ensuring that the right individuals with the right skills and attitude exist within the team.
• Create an environment of continuous improvement constantly looking to drive business growth opportunities.
• Ensure that the team respond in a timely and effective manner to all enquiries, concerns and issues.
Skills and Experience
Able to demonstrate significant experience in a similar role.
Demonstrated success in driving e-commerce sales growth.
Possess excellent communication skills and have the ability to negotiate effectively with suppliers and colleagues.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Adopts a highly analytical and methodical approach with high attention to detail and the ability to use data to make decisions and solve problems.
Strong IT and technology proficiency with solid computer skills.
Knowledge of eBay and Amazon Seller Central is advantageous.
