Part-Time Finance Assistant – Entry-Level or Return-to-Work Opportunity

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Clerical Support to the Credit Control Team
  • Responding to customer queries via email and telephone.
  • Handling calls with a professional and confident phone manner.
  • Sending account confirmations and overdue payment reminders by email and post.
  • Processing card payments securely over the phone.
  • Scanning and organising incoming correspondence.
  • Reviewing and maintaining the accuracy of customer account details.

Debt Collection

  • Contacting customers to follow up on overdue payments, primarily by phone.
  • Reviewing credit-held orders and assisting in resolving outstanding balances.
  • Credit Assessment
  • Assisting in opening new customer accounts and checking application details.
  • Learning how to verify creditworthiness using Credit Safe.

Communication & Record-Keeping

  • Keeping accurate and up-to-date records of customer communications.
  • Assisting the credit control team with general administration and reporting.

What We’re Looking For

  • Good Microsoft Excel skills with the ability to work with spreadsheets.
  • A confident and professional phone manner, with good communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and an organised approach to tasks.
  • A willingness to learn and develop within a finance-focused role.
  • A proactive attitude and the ability to work as part of a team.
